Who We Are

At Keeler Carpentry, we believe that great construction begins with great craftsmanship. Our work spans custom residential fine woodworking, structural carpentry, and high-end Renovation projects across Central Ohio.

Founded on the principles of quality, integrity, and attention to detail, we bring decades of experience to every project—large and small. Each piece we create is a testament to the enduring value of well-crafted woodwork.

We work closely with homeowners, architects, and designers to deliver spaces that are not only functional but beautiful—spaces that stand the test of time.

The Founder's Story

Our founder, James Keeler, grew up surrounded by wood. His grandfather's workshop in rural Ohio was where he first learned the language of grain, grain, and joinery—how a piece of lumber could be transformed into something lasting and meaningful.

That early exposure sparked a lifelong passion. James spent his青少年 years learning from master craftsmen, then formalized his knowledge through a Carpentry apprenticeship program. After years working on large-scale construction projects, he founded Keeler Carpentry with a different vision: to bring the craftsmanship of fine woodworking to every aspect of residential construction.

Today, James brings that same passion and dedication to every client who trusts us with their project. His hands-on leadership ensures that the standards and care he learned in his grandfather's workshop remain at the heart of everything we do.

Our Craftsmanship Philosophy

Quality Materials

We source our wood from reputable suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and quality. Whether it's oak, maple, walnut, or reclaimed timber, we select each piece for its character, durability, and beauty.

We believe that the material you put into a project determines what you get out of it. That's why we never cut corners when it comes to sourcing.

Time-Honored Techniques

While we embrace modern tools and technology for precision and efficiency, we never abandon the proven techniques that have served craftsmen for centuries. Mortise and tenon joints, dovetails, and other traditional joinery methods ensure our work will last for generations.

Our artisans have spent years mastering these techniques, and we take pride in passing that knowledge on to the next generation.

Attention to Detail

It's in the details that quality becomes visible. From perfectlyFlush grain to joints that fit with no gaps, we measure twice and cut once on every project. Our inspectors verify our work at multiple stages to ensure it meets our exacting standards.

We understand that what you see is just part of the story—the structure beneath is what truly matters. That's why we pay attention to both the visible and the hidden elements of every build.

Client Partnership

Great construction is a collaboration. We begin every project by listening—to your vision, your needs, your budget, and your timeline. Then we bring our expertise to bear to help you achieve your goals.

Throughout the process, we keep you informed, answer your questions, and welcome your feedback. The result is a space that truly reflects your style and meets your functional requirements.

Our Workshop

Our workshop sits on a quiet corner of our property, a modern space designed for efficiency and comfort. Here, skilled artisans bring plans to life using a combination of traditional hand tools and modern CNC equipment.

We maintain a well-organized, well-lit workspace where each project has its designated area. Our shop includes dedicated spaces for rough framing, fine woodworking, finishing, and assembly—ensuring that each phase of work gets the attention it deserves.

Equipment in our workshop ranges from classic hand tools that have been in our family for decades to state-of-the-art CNC routers and woodworking machinery. This blend allows us to maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship while efficiently handling projects of any scale.
